  2 years after its opening, the Unified Patent Court (UPC) has been used successfully as part of global litigation strategies in a way few anticipated at the outset. It is starting to shape its case law. We will provide an overview of the role the UPC can play in a global litigation strategy and the criteria that have been used by the UPC in the context of PIs illustrated with concrete examples.
